Our doctors are also involved in cutting-edge research into immunosuppressant drugs and innovative surgical techniques. The Program employs the latest drug and research discoveries and advanced surgical techniques, earning an outstanding local and national reputation.

University of Southern California University Hospital The transplant team uses modern anti-rejection drugs to prevent and treat rejection in transplant recipients. These drugs, including a new class of antibodies to some of the receptors for rejection, have evolved to become highly selective, and our physicians are skilled in their use. They have significantly cut the frequency of acute rejection episodes.

The Pancreas Transplant Program is one component of the full-service Multi-Organ Transplantation Program at the University of Southern California School of Medicine.

The pancreas transplant procedure is performed at the USC University Hospital. The USC University Hospital, opened in 1991, is a modern 284-bed hospital on the USC Health Sciences Campus near downtown Los Angeles.
